Quintin Kynaston Community Academy

Dear Parents / Carers,

As you may be aware from the media, Jo Shuter has been suspended as Headteacher of Quintin Kynaston Community Academy. As Chair of Governors, I have made the following statement to the press:

On receipt of serious allegations relating to the management of the school, governors took immediate action to initiate an investigation and are now referring the matter to the police.

In order to facilitate this investigation and ensure that pupils' education is not compromised during this process, we have now also taken the decision to suspend the Headteacher.

Governors are seeking to reassure the school community, who will be undoubtedly shocked and unsettled by this news, that the highest priority is being given to the smooth running of the school and to this end, governors are seeking to appoint an interim head teacher as soon as possible.

Chris Sale will be Acting Headteacher in the interim.  The Governing Body have every confidence in the Senior Leadership Team’s ability to ensure the smooth running of the school. QK will continue to run as normal and we would ask that you speak to your son or daughter to ensure that they continue to meet our high expectations.
